public holiday on July 30 as a mark of respect former President APJ Abdul Kalam


With the funeral of former President APJ Abdul Kalam slated on Thursday at Rameswaram, the  Tamil Nadu government declaring a public holiday on July 30 due to the funeral of former President A P J Abdul Kalam, the Labour department today asked all industrial establishments to declare a holiday tomorrow. 

A release from the office of Commissioner of Labour recalled that the government had already declared a public holiday on July 30 "as a mark of respect" to the late Kalam. 

"In continuation to this, all industrial establishments shall declare a holiday on July 30, 2015 under Negotiable Instruments Act 1881," it said. 

The funeral of the former President will take place in Rameswaram at 11 AM tomorrow with full military honours.

The government "has decided" to announce public holiday on July 30 to private and government educational institutions and establishments under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, "as a mark of respect" to him, an official release said.
