CBSE to declare AIPMT results today

AIPMT result out
The results of the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), the gateway exam for admission into some top-notch state-run medical colleges, were declared on Monday by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The retest was held on July 25. The results are now available on board's official
website, cbseresults.nic.in. The examination is used to fill up over 3,800 coveted medical seats – around 15% of the total.
The Supreme Court had in June directed the CBSE to hold the AIPMT afresh after allegations of large-scale irregularities in the test held in May. The court also asked the board to declare the results by August 17. The CBSE had announced stringent measures to deter the use of unfair means in the retest after the apex court's directive.

According to CBSE officials, a total of 6,32,625 candidates were registered for this examination, out of which only 4,22,859 candidates downloaded the admit card. The examination was conducted at 1,065 centres in 50 cities throughout the country and abroad. The admission process of UG and PG Courses in various medical colleges across India is delayed this year and will start soon after the announcement of results.

The May 3, 2015 exam results were not allowed to be declared by the Supreme Court and a re-test was conducted on June 25, 2015 amid unprecedented safety measures.
"A total of 6,32,625 candidates were registered for this examination, out of which only 4,22,859 candidates downloaded the admit card. The examination was conducted at 1,065 centres in 50 cities throughout the country and abroad," the CBSE said.
The apex court cancelled the May 3 examination following the leak of the question paper and circulation of the answer keys through electronic devices across 10 states.
While the apex court asked the board to conduct the test within four weeks, the CBSE expressed its inability to conduct the retest on such a short notice. Following that, SC asked the board to conduct the examination by August 16, 2015.
However, CBSE managed to conduct the exam by June 25 itself at an expenditure of Rs 38 crores.
