The State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT)
Haryana calls for applicants for the position of Research Assistant with the
newly established research Centre REAP (Centre for Research and
Experiments for Action and Policy) within SCERT Gurgaon, Haryana. REAP
is looking for motivated candidates with a Bachelors’ Degree in Science,
Psychology, Economics, Social Sciences, Mathematics or Statistics and a
strong interest in the field of Education to participate in policy research.
Research Assistants will help in designing and implementing monitoring
and evaluation work in Haryana.
The work involve a variety of tasks including designing survey
questionnaires, managing survey teams, negotiating contracts with survey
firms, checking and analyzing data, and coordinating with local partners
running the programs on the field, writing policy and grant proposals and a
significant amount of field-work. The Research Assistants will be mentored
by researchers from REAP, as well as external collaborators from
international organizations such as the MIT Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and
Harvard University and work closely with Policymakers. The position
provides a unique opportunity to work at the nexus of practice, policy and
research.
REAP is looking to establish a team with a strong research ethic and
these positions can be excellent learning opportunities for people who wish
to get hands-on experience with field research. Four such positions are
available.
Requirements: Fluency in English (spoken and written), excellent
computer skills particularly in Microsoft Applications.
Knowledge of statistical and referencing software is a
plus.
