The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, New Delhi's scheme for "National Awards for Teachers-2016 - using ICT for innovations in Education in schools level" wherein they
have invited applications from teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary level pertaining to State Govt. schools/ run by local bodies and Govt.

Aided Schools (including the Govt. 86 Private Schools affiliated to State Board of Education) and who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum and subject teaching, and thereby promoted enquiry-based cooperative-collaborative
learning using ICT among their students. It is, therefore, you are requested to please do wide publicity for encouraging the eligible teachers to apply for award and their cases should be forward alongwith full justification / documentary evidences and with your recommendation to this Directorate latest by 31st July, 2016 upto 5.00 PM. Cases received after this date shall not be
entertained. The policy / Instructions of Award are available at the website of the department at www.schooleducationharyana.gov.in and copy of the same is attached herewith for ready reference.

National Awards for Teachers -2016-Notice regarding Inviting Cases for ICT National Award for Teachers for use of ICT in Education-2016

Last Date for Submission 31st July, 2016
Eligibility
School teachers of Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools
working in any Recognized Schools in the Indian Union under the following categories:

  • 1. Schools run by State Govt./UTs Administration, schools run by Local Bodies,

Private Schools affiliated to State Boards and Aided by State Govt. and UT
Administration.

  • 2. Central Govt. Schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya

Vidyalayas (JNVs), Central Schools for Tibetans (CTSA), Sainik Schools and
Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MOD), Schools run by Atomic Energy
Education Society (AEES).

  • 3. Schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (other than

those at (i) and (ii) above)

  • 4. Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examination (CISCE)

(Other than those at (i), (ii) and (iii) above).
Note: Cases should be send to the concerned authority as mentioned in selection
procedure in policy document.
Guidelines for Submission of Nomination for ICT Award
1. A teacher Portfolio should be submitted along with the Entry Form.
2. The portfolio should include the teachers exploration of ICT and the Project
implemented. [Note: Project should have been implemented before its submission.]
3. The teacher should have involved students in problem solving and investigations that
culminate in realistic products. (for example - a virtual laboratory experiment which
helped in solving local village problem, a website, or documentation of the issue, etc.)
4. The submission should be accompanied by relevant supporting documents, tools,
reports of activities, field visits, etc., photographs or videos.
Award
Each winning teacher will be awarded with an ICT Kit, a laptop and a
commendation certificate. The winners would be encouraged to function as mentors
(resource persons) for their area to motivate and train other teachers in use of ICT kit +
project (incl. training & mentor) in teaching. All the winners will form a community of
resource persons through networking. The prize winning initiatives would be shared as best
practices across the country.

1. Guidelines for States/UTs/Autonomous Bodies under MHRD
Eligibility 
School teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary and higher secondary schools
working in any recognized school in the Indian Union under the following categories:
(i) Schools run by State Govt./UTs Administration, schools run by local bodies,
private schools affiliated to state boards, aided by State Govt. and UT
Administration.
(ii) Central Govt. Schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya
Vidyalayas (JNVs), Central Schools for Tibetans (CTSA), Sainik Schools and
Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MOD), Schools run by Atomic Energy
Education Society (AEES).
(iii) Schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (other
than those at (i) and (ii) above)
(iv) Schools affiliated to Council for Indian' Schools Certificate Examination
(CISCE) (Other than those at (i), (ii) and (iii) above)
Note~St Go ments/ UTs administration may not nominate teachers from any
ther categories.
Allocation of Awards
Three awards for each large State 13x3= 39
(Defined as States having teacher strength of 1 lakh or more)
Two awards for each small State 15x2=30
(Defined as States whose teacher's strength is less thanl lakh)
One award for each UT 7x1= 7
Two awards each for KVS &NVS 2x2= 4
Three awards for CBSE 3
One award for CISCE 1
One award for CTSA 1
One award for Sainik School and Schools under MOD 1
One award for schools under AEES 1
Total 87

Notice regarding inviting cases for National Award for teachers for the year 2013
Selection procedure
(1) For States & UT schools
Schools will send detailed entries in the prescribed format along with supporting
documents to the Directorate of Education of the State/UT through the District
Education Officer.
The Directorate of Education, with the help of a State-level Committee headed by
Secretary (Secondary Education)/ SPD - RMSA will scrutinize all the entries and
shortlist the candidates and forward the same to the Joint Director, Central Institute
of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, New Delhi - 110016 for further action.
The number of candidates to be nominated will be twice the number of awards
allotted.
(ii) For others i.e. Autonomous organizations/ institutions under Govt of India
Schools will forward detailed entries in prescribed format along with supporting
documents to the headquarters of the concerned organization i.e. KVS, NVS, CBSE,
CISCE, CTSA, Sainik Schools under Ministry of Defence (MoD), AEES. A
Committee under the Head of the. organization of the autonomous body will
scrutinize all the entries and shortlist the candidates and send the same to The Joint
Director, CIET, NCERT New Delhi - 110016 for further action. The number of
candidates to be nominated will be twice the number of awards allotted.
(iii) At CIET the short listed candidates would be required to make presentations
before a Committee. The composition of the Committee will be as follows:
a) Director, NCERT

b) DDG, NIC
c) Representative from Secondary Education
Bureau, Dept of SE&L, Ministry of HRD
- Member
d) Representative from Dept of IT
- Member
e) Joint Director, CIET
- Member Secretary

The Committee would recommend the requisite number of awardees to
the Ministry with justification. At the Ministry level the proposal would be
scrutinized before the approval of the Minister.

2. Guidelines for submission of nomination/ entry for the National ICT Award
for School Teachers-2016
D A teacher Portfolio should be submitted along with the Entry Form.
â  The portfolio should include evidence of the teacher's awareness and use of ICT in
his' her own professional development, in improving his/ her teaching- learning, and
in enhancing overall quality of education in schools and community.
â  The portfolio should document sustained systematic work using ICT over the years.
â  The portfolio should include relevant supporting documents, tools, reports of
activities, field visits, photographs, audios or videos.
â  E-contents listed in the portfolio (Audios, Videos, Multimedia, Charts, Maps,

Models lesson plans and images) should be uploaded/ shared online.




Respected Madam/Sir,
The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Schools
have been revised and a new component on national Award for teachers for use of ICT in
education has been introduced.
In all 87 ICT awards are instituted by Govt. of India for different states/ UTs and Autonomous
Bodies/ organizations under MHRD. A break-up of state-wise allocation of awards is enclosed. The
award proposes to felicitate those teachers who have enhanced student learning by effectively and
innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum and subject
teaching, and thereby promoted enquiry-based cooperative-collaborative learning using ICT among
their students. Teachers of primary, upper primary, secondary, higher secondary schools
pertaining to the following organizations are eligible to be nominated under the scheme:
i. State Government schools/schools run by local bodies and Government Aided Schools
(including the schools affiliated to state boards of education)
ii. Central Government schools i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas
(JNVs), Central Tibetan Schools (CTSA), Schools run by Ministry of Defence (MOD) i.e.
Sainik Schools etc. and schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES)
iii. Schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) other than those at (i)
and (ii) above.
iv. Schools affiliated to Council for Indian Schools Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
As per the guidelines of the Scheme, the selection process for identifying the awardee teachers
involves the following:
1. Schools will send detailed entries in the prescribed format along with supporting documents to
the Directorate of Education of their States/UTs/Organisation through proper channel
(Principal/DEO/Regional Offices etc.).
2. A Committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary/Commissioner (Education) of the concerned
state/UT/Autonomous Organisations (KVS, NVS, CBSE, CISCE, CTSA, AEES etc.) will
scrutinize all the entries and shortlist the candidates and forward the same to the Chairman of

the Awards Committee along with minutes of the meeting. The state/UT/organization shall
recommend only twice the number of teachers as their awards quota, in order of merit.
3. Short listed candidates would be required to make presentations before the Awards Committee.
Invitation in this regard will be sent to teachers directly by CIET-NCERT with intimation to their
Directorate The composition of the Committee will be as follows:
i. Director, NCERT, New Delhi Chairman
ii. DDG. NIC, New Delhi Member
iii. Representative from Secondary Education Member
Bureau, Dept. of SE&L, Ministry of HRD, GOI Member
iv. Representative from Dept of IT, New Delhi Member
v. Joint Director, CIET, New Delhi Member Secretary




Tne Awards Committee would recommend the requisite number of awardees to the Ministry with

justification. The Ministry will process the recommendation for the awards.
Each avvardee teacher will be awarded with a laptop and a commendation certificate. All winners
will form a community of resource persons through networking.
Each entry from the state/UT must include individual applications (as per the Performa attached) of
teacher nominated along with necessary documents and evidence. The last date for forwarding
of short listed candidates by State Govt./UTs/Autonomous Organisations to the Joint
Director, CIET-NCERT, New Delhi-110016 is 31st August, 2016. It may be noted that the
teachers/ schools of your esteemed organization are to submit their nominations to your
good offices on or before 31st July, 2016. Nominations/ entries in any case should not be
sent to NCERT directly by the teachers/ schools.
I shall be grateful if you could kindly look into the matter personally to disseminate the information
among all stake holders, obtain nominations from school teachers and send the short listed
nominations from your State/UT/Organization in the prescribed format to CIET-NCERT latest by
31st August, 2016. For other details you are requested to instruct the teachers to log in to CIET
website: www.ciet.nic.in. www.ncert.nic.in. A copy of citation booklet of. National ICT Award fpr
School Teachers 2010 to 2014, epathshala and NROER brochure and DVD containing 65 + free
