BLO duty case court decision: case dismissed

No ground is made out to interfere in assignment of additional duties as Booth Level Officer in the on-going process for revision of electoral rolls.
The petitioners are primary school teachers and do not have long hours to work in their teaching duties and, therefore, they can take out some time to serve the nation on a public cause.
The petition stands dismissed.
It is open to the Government to take duties which are consistent with the status and without lowering it. Nothing of the kind has been done to the petitioners which could be said to be infra dig.
