In an effort to assist civil service aspirants in schools, the Malappuram chapter of Sahodaya School Complex of CBSE schools is all set to launch civil service coaching for students of all CBSE schools in the district.
'Inspire 2013' will be started with support from the state civil service training institute and Minority Welfare department.
Three students from each division of the schools would be trained in the first phase of the project. Students of standard 6, 7, 8 , 9 and 10 would benefit from the project.
All 85 CBSE schools in the district recently organised 'M-Sat', an aptitude test to select aspirants and 520 students have been chosen for the training.
Schools have been grouped into two clusters for the project. The district collector K Biju will inaugurate the first coaching programme atNazareth Senior Secondary School, Manjeri on November 2. Training for cluster 2 will be inaugurated by sub-collector Amith Meena at Irshadiya Public School, Kolathur on November 9.
General secretary of Malappuram Sahodaya, M Abdul Nazar said the coaching would be provided with the help of faculty from the government civil service training centre at Ponnani and the training centre under the minority welfare department. "Classes would be conducted on holidays and coaching will be according to a special syllabus," he said.
"We expect the programme will boost the standard of schools while stressing the need to provide foundational training for civil service," he said .
As part of the project, special career guidance classes would be organised for parents of students selected for the programme, at Malappuram. Students may access details of the project from the website www.malappuramsahodaya.org.
